A series of somewhat unrelated thoughts regarding M.I.A. and her fans:

I LOVE the references to her roots in this video. I HATE that her hipster fans completely miss them or think they’re a fashion statement.

Said hipsters judging her for making money is so fucking rude. Do they want her to go back to living in hiding and fearing for her life again? Just so she can live upto their privileged hipster ideals?

I MISS the days when her graffiti was so overt you couldn’t forget her roots. I DON’T MISS her hipster fans’ reaction to Jimmy - “yay fun exotic bollywood music!!”
